Sonoma In The City

The owners of this Lakeview home sought outdoor space for relaxing and entertaining. They envisioned a yard that evokes the al fresco lifestyle of California wine country, where they have roots.

Our design reshapes their outdoor space into four zones: kitchen/dining, spa terrace, lounge, and side yard. The multilevel design defines each zone while gracefully addressing the height differential between the home’s first level and the ground plane. A focal point is a 7-ft linear fireplace with steel surround.

 

The south-facing zones bask in sunlight, where plantings, louvered shades, and a pergola ensure privacy and provided dappled light. When the sun sets, layered lighting creates a warm, celebratory vibe.
